Witness appeal following distraction burglary in Gloucester Avenue, Northampton |

Police officers are appealing for witnesses after a woman in her 90s was burgled in Gloucester Avenue, Northampton. The incident happened on Wednesday, October 1, between 3.50pm and 4.40pm, when two women tricked their way into the elderly lady’s home by telling her they were medical professionals. Whilst one of them distracted the victim, the other stole two wedding rings and cash. One of the suspects is described as a white woman, about 5ft 8in, in her 30s, of a slim build, with shoulder-length dark-coloured hair and wearing a leotard, brown rain jacket and dark-coloured trousers. She spoke with an English accent. The other suspect was smaller than the first woman, and described as being of Indian descent, wearing a navy-coloured anorak and black trousers. Witnesses or anyone who recognises the descriptions above should contact Northamptonshire Police on 101.
